ddm 8 - danshall (mix)

Berlin DJ DDM (Digital Death Music) comming along with a rather laid-back but energetic dubstep/electronica mix. A good listen for between the years.

Free Tracks from Imminent Recordings

A zip with two free 320kbps MP3-files by Imminent Recordings (former Immigrant Recordings).
Worth a free download. Even worth paying if one had to. Expect some extremely fierce gabba kicks on Dots track and a heavy, rolling beat/bass construct from Subeena. Loving the sounds of the whole Label.

Mira Calix - Eyes Set Against The Sun / Skimskitta

Innitially stumbled upon her recent album wich i thought was quite interesting. But to be honest, i liked the older stuff (2007 / 2003) better. A mixture of modern classical music and ambient electronica. Some tracks more of a texture, some more musical. Lovely.

ryuichi sakamoto - chain music

An interesting project of japanese composer super hero ryuichi sakamoto.

Just a quick quote from his notion on the project:

The idea is to chain musical pieces from one artist to another, like a chain letter.

The purpose is to musically mark the passage of time that Iraq is in a state of war, to mark the steps to peace, to take each day that there is war and build a musical memorial to the desire for peace as well as to mark off the time of war.
Of course the list of artists is just what i considder mindblowing in terms of contemporary experimental electronica.

wolfgang voigt - gas (r-n102)

A collection of 5 10-minute Tracks. Really minimal yet way more organic than the usual stuff on raster-noton. A real winter-record to get lost watching the cold fog passing in front of your window. In addition (or is it the other way round?) You get a 128-page book representing the visual side of the "gas"-project.

Electronic Explorations: Week 45: Ebola

Basically I could recommend each episode of this show/podcast without question, but this is one mix i've been listening to over and over again. Loving the style. Funny enough, while i'd considder his recent stuff "Dubstep", ebola seems to have a really strong connection to the international Breakcore-scene, wich i find a lovely combination to make.

Alphacut 009 Promo: Randomer - "Down in the woods"

I'm not to keen on the B-Side. But the A-Side def. does it for me. The beats and tablas and whatever have a bit of a timberland-meets dnb-style to it. sick! should be released sometime soon.

ital tek - cynical

bits of glitchy idm, generally breakbeats, some more some less "dupstep". Rather the beautyfull than the scary kind of dark.

Iqbit & Sytrjv - Live @ Tuscania 2003-2004

here

Some glitchy electroic bits of beats, really good athmospheres and from time to time some beautyfull melodies.

kreidler - eve future / eve future recall

I'm absolutely not sure wether it's played on a good midipiano or live, neither am i sure about wether its a soundtrack, classical music or should be regarded as "electronic" somehow.

Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III

Picked up the album pretty much because it had "Lollipop" and "A milli" (can't find the actual video for it...) on it. But that's one odd hiphop-album that lasts. In my collection at least. Very well produced and excellent flow (both the rap and the beats).

Wenzel - Glaubt nie, was ich singe

2007 album by german singer / songwriter Wenzel. A philosophical alcoholic singing about life, alcohol and stuff. Some funny and refreshingly useless songs featuring a Brassband. Pretty much a record to listen to late at night with a glass (or bottle) of wine.

Electronic Explorations - Week 043 - Starkey

Rob Booth's podcast featuring American Dubstep-producer Starkey.

http://electronicexplorations.org/the-show/week-043-starkey/

Hello World! (Ha!)

What's this about?
This is about me listening to music.
this is about me sharing links and information about streams, records and whatever that fascinates me.
Let's see how this works out.

The general direction:
Experimental stuff, techno, dubstep, minimal stuff (not nescecarily "minimal"), some folk and a wee bit of singer / songwriter records, jazz, ... music, maybe

What you will not find:
Distorted electric guitars. I just can't be bothered to listen to those. (with exceptions)
