Ben Frost - By The Throat

A dark ambient album with all the goods I need to make it fit for me. Both electronic and real sound textures beautifully composed to a record that's really worth the title.

Barbarix - The Mystics EP

I loving the mood on this one. Some very classical elements like harps and choir and all that...
Probably the most established artist to work with us (Planet Terror Records) so far, Barbarix has had releases on Belgian netlabel Entity.be and the infamous Brighton-based Net-Lab, as well as loads of attention from Mary Anne Hobbs, Nerm, Nihal and Bobby Friction of Radio 1 fame.

The Mystics EP is a significant departure from some of his more pounding creations, a relaxing and atmospheric affair best suited to lying in a darkened room or roaming through mystic wooded areas, climaxing with the glorious 'When Night Falls'. Clear yourself some headspace and bathe in the warming talent of Barbarix.

AGF - Dance Floor Drachen

AGFs 5th solo album is a digital release in the format of a web application considering the value of music in the year 2008. It is an open call asking listeners to show personal appreciation for the music they experienced.
Apart from that AGF is a great musician and I kinda wonder why only now I found out about this release: This release is full of her typical combination of abstract collages with glitchy sound editing and abstract vocals. It appears to me that she somewhat turned up the bass on this record, though, paying respect to the dance floor (but don't try to play that out to an average crowd...). It's free.

Mira Calix - Eyes Set Against The Sun / Skimskitta

Innitially stumbled upon her recent album wich i thought was quite interesting. But to be honest, i liked the older stuff (2007 / 2003) better. A mixture of modern classical music and ambient electronica. Some tracks more of a texture, some more musical. Lovely.

wolfgang voigt - gas (r-n102)

A collection of 5 10-minute Tracks. Really minimal yet way more organic than the usual stuff on raster-noton. A real winter-record to get lost watching the cold fog passing in front of your window. In addition (or is it the other way round?) You get a 128-page book representing the visual side of the "gas"-project.

Order the book+cd / buy the mp3s:
